Google AI Mode Launched Today in UK

Google AI Mode

In our last blog https://m3sm.co.uk/ai-and-serps-results/ we predicted that AI Mode would be rolled out to the UK before the end of this year, and we were right. In fact, it happened today!

Our predictions were completely accurate, in that we stated this would change the way we used the search engine, and that it would take away from clicking links on a website, unless someone wants to take action. Leaving the site for intentional clicks, but the content delivering information to AI Mode and standard search. You can see more at the BBC, who have visited Google to try out AI Mode before it reached the UK.

How does AI Mode Impact SEO?

Simply put, we carry on optimising your website using the same best practices, however, there will be a focus on differentiating the words on your website, making sure you have enough informational articles and blogs to be found. Giving useful and valuable information has always been our mantra, and we want you to write more please. But also, when you want people to take action, you need to be using Calls To Action (CTA) in your article titles and content to get those valuable clicks.

The biggest change will be the data you see, because it will drop. If all the answers are to be found off-site, then the number of clicks to your site will be a lot less. That part of the journey has changed. Instead, you will see the clicks that matter on your website. You will see Intentional clicks, where people want to do business with you. So, although clicks go down, conversions should not be impacted if you are delivering good quality, fact based, informational content.

To get people visiting your site for informational clicks, you need to be using alternative marketing methods, such as Paid Ads, Email Marketing and even Social Media for B2C businesses.
