Post Christmas Reviews
After a busy period for B2C companies, now is the time to maximise the opportunity of those reviews. If you are a B2B company, then a new year and a fresh start, you should be considering leveraging reviews as a part of your online marketing strategy.
Why are reviews important?
We know that some highly unscrupulous companies nurture “fake reviews” and at M3SM we do not, and never would encourage or condone this type of tactic. It is wrong, unethical, and you will always be caught out. The idea of reviews and testimonials is that they are honest feedback giving potential users a little trust on your products or services.
B2C Reviews
For B2C, reviews are far easier to gather, and often they come swiftly and without prompt. The thing to consider with B2C is that unprompted reviews can also be damaging. Let’s be honest, as a nation, we complain easily, but are not so quick to reward positively without that prompt. This is where third party providers can help. Sites such as Trust Pilot, or Feefo help you remind people to leave their reviews, meaning that you are often prompting those who enjoyed your product and/or service to leave positive feedback.
Larger organisations can add a QR code to the back of their receipts and even highlight this verbally at the point of sale.
B2B Reviews
For B2B, gathering reviews is not as simple. However, the best way is to gather reviews via your Google Business profile. Google allows you to create a link which you can turn into a QR code, or leave as a link and add this to your documentation when supplying goods or services. This could mean sending out the link with your invoices, or you could add it to your email signature
When you speak with your clients, ask if you can send them the link, show them you are interested in their feedback by sending the link in an email broadcast. If you are really struggling, offer an incentive, by way of a discount on future services, or even a prize draw.
Whether you are B2B or B2C, you should always handle negative feedback as well as thanking positive feedback. Negative feedback can help you improve, and stating that you have taken note and are working to improve, online (yes where everyone can see), can indicate that you are a forward thinking company, and that the issue won’t happen again
Reviews and Testimonials are important, make it a part of your online marketing strategy today.
